THE OLD SPOTTED COW, MARSTON MEYSEY
For those who love a good old Cotswolds pub
The Old Spotted Cow is a traditional Cotswold-stone pub on the outskirts of the pretty village of Marston Meysey, mid way between the Roman town of Cirencester and the pretty market town of Fairford. Set back from the road and surrounded by attractive gardens, we enjoy open views over the fields, making our tranquil rural location the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Trading continuously as a pub since before 1820, the pub is held dear by many local families and continues to go from strength to strength. It has been under the same ownership for the last 10 years, and offers excellent real ales, a considered wine list and freshly-cooked contemporary British food in a relaxed environment.
We have been well reviewed in the Good Pub Guide 2015 and take tremendous pride in offering a warm and friendly welcome to all of our guests, whether you are popping in for a quick pint or two, or stopping for a relaxed meal. Inside, the Cow boasts a rich, warm ambience with exposed stonework, oak floors, old beams and two open log fires in winter. Outside, the pretty beer garden is a great place to relax in warmer weather, with a patio for al fresco lunches or suppers.
With plentiful off road parking, a separate play area for children and wonderful views over the fields, the Spotted Cow is a destination with something for everyone. Come and relax over a casual meal with friends, celebrate a special occasion, or just enjoy a drink in the warmth of the bar.

Whether you're planning an intimate dinner with friends, a birthday party, or a small wedding, we'll be more than happy to help. We want you and your guests to have a great time so we're very flexible about arrangements and will take care of all the details. Rest assured, we offer a personal service that's attentive to your needs - so if there is anything you require, simply let us know.
For parties of more than 10 people, we do ask for a pre-order. Please speak to Anna about your requirements, we can either create a menu specific to your event, or help you select choices from our monthly menu. We can also host dinner parties on your behalf with a set menu and wines of your choice.
Children are welcome at the Old Spotted Cow, especially if they are well behaved! We have a stash of colouring books and crayons, puzzles and other games to keep them amused and if the weather is fine, the garden is a good place for them to romp around. We have two high chairs here if needed, and you are welcome to bring your own booster seat if that is easier for you. A children’s menu is available or you can order smaller portions off the a la carte menu. Please let us know how we can help.
Please note that we seat families with children under 8 away from the bar area, and we do not allow children under 14 to sit on the bar stools.
Being an old building, the front door is relatively narrow. Standard wheelchairs do fit through it, but unfortunately motorised wheelchairs do not. Internally there are no stairs to worry about, and plenty of manoeuvring space between tables. Staff are always on-hand to help, but please note that we have not yet been able to complete the works required to provide customised disabled toilet facilities.
Please feel welcome to talk to the staff about how we can make your visit a comfortable one, especially if there is anything specific that you may need.
Well behaved dogs are very welcome in the bar area, provided that they are dry and on a lead. Fresh water and dog biscuits are always available for them. Please do not allow them to foul the lawn, though – we have bags available if you are caught short!
